WHAT IS A TEST RIDE?

  • Way of introducing new horse enthusiasts to the American Quarter Horse
  • Way of showcasing local trainers and instructors to prospective customers and client
  • Way of promoting the western lifestyle

Test Rides are simply a brief riding lesson given by competent professionals with a desire to spread the value of horseback riding and to gain new customers.

Test Rides are not:

  • Pony rides
  • Entertainment just for children

HOW DOES THE TEST RIDE WORK?

  • You will be asked a series of questions to determine your riding level.
  • You will be given a safety demonstration prior to entering the riding area.
  • You will be matched with a certain horse that meets your riding level.
  • You will be guided through a series of controlled exercises to familiarize yourself with the American Quarter Horse.
  • Test Rides usually last between 10-20 minutes each depending upon the event.
  • You will have the opportunity to visit with a local AQHA Affiliate volunteer or Professional Horsemen about how to get more involved with horses.
